It’s another hectic day for a business owner like you.
Then you remember you have a promotional email that should go out today!
You start putting everything in your email and hit the ‘Send Now’ button in an hour.

Success? Maybe not...
You just send out a subpar email to your subscribers.
Sounds you?
Sending an email campaign isn’t always that easy. You know for sure that copywriting and email designing takes time, brain-work, and energy. If you’re busy, then it gets harder to squeeze that time into your schedule.
But if you plan, it gets easier to create emails that sell.
And in planning your email campaigns, there’s a handy tool called Email Content Calendar to help you publish regular emails for your subscribers.
Handy-Dandy Email Marketing Tool

An email content calendar is a simple document you use to control the content of your email campaigns. It includes your schedules, the goal of your emails, and your recipients.
It allows business owners like you to plan out your email campaigns for the next weeks or months. It’s an email marketing tool that organizes your email campaign.
3 Easy Steps to Create your Email Content Calendar
I created this simple guide for you to create your own email content calendar. So say goodbye to ‘rush’ and ‘better-late-than-never email campaigns!
#1. Create a spreadsheet
You don’t need a fancy app on your calendar. Instead, you can build one using a spreadsheet. I recommend Google Sheets because it’s free, convenient and you can easily share it with anyone.
Simply rename columns with the following;
Email Type: What type of email campaign are you sending? Is it a newsletter, a promotional, or a blog broadcast?
Recipients: Who will receive this mail? Is it your entire list or a particular segment only?
Content: What type of content will you include in your email? Images or GIF?
Publishing Date: When do you plan to send this email?
Status: You can create a drop-down list in this column that will determine the status of the email campaign? Waiting for Approval, On-going, Completed or LIVE?
It looks like this;

#2. Plot out your email campaign ideas
Once you’re done with the spreadsheet, you can plot out the variety of content you’d like to publish. For example, how many promotional emails you’ll send this month? Do you have a new product release this month that you’ll announce via email? When is that?

Take note of the upcoming holidays that your subscribers are interested in.
You also need to think about how many emails you’ll send in a week.
#3. Start working
Now that you fill in your calendar, you can start working on your email campaigns. I suggest working in advance at least one week before your assigned publishing date. If you have a marketing team, you can start assigning roles and make sure the work gets done one week in advance.
If you’re working on it alone, work on it in advance, so you have time to review and make changes before publishing it.
